Landlord Refuses Water Damage Restoration in Riverview

Unfortunately, this actually happens more than you know.  You are a renter, you have a flood and your landlord refuses to properly restore and remediate your home.

Our most recent interaction with such an incident came when we were called out to Riverview, Florida on account of a flooded kitchen.  Our 24/7 response team got to the site asap to find serious water damage setting in.  We were called out by people who were renting the apartment.  Somehow, the sink faucet didn’t shut off and the sink eventually overflowed with water.  Of course, this happened while they were out so for several hours, water was overflowing out of the sink and onto the floor and into the kitchen.  By the time the tenants came home and turned off the tap completely, the damage had been done.

Our water mitigation inspectors immediately noticed the water damage done to the cabinets and kitchen flooring.  This would be a serious cleanup job and then mold remediation would have to take place to prevent mold from growing.

However, the landlord wasn't on board with us cleaning up the water damage.
